Privacy policy

Effective 1 January 2026

Velati Ltd ("Velati", "we", "us") is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We process your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect

When you use the will-builder we collect: your full legal name, date of birth, address, the names and addresses of the people you choose to include in your will, your decisions about how your estate should be divided, and a record of when each step of the pre-flight check was completed.

Why we collect it

We collect your information to produce the will document you requested, to provide the plain-English review screen, and to produce the signing pack. The records of your pre-flight check are kept as evidence of testamentary capacity and voluntariness if your will is ever challenged.

How long we keep it

The signed will and signing pack are retained for as long as you maintain an account with us. Raw answers from the questionnaire are pseudonymised after twelve months — the document remains identifiable to you, but the underlying free-text answers are no longer linked to your identity.

Who we share it with

We use trusted processors to host our service and deliver email. Our current list is: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database and auth), SendGrid (transactional email), Stripe (payments) and PostHog (analytics, EU host). We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export and delete your personal data. You can exercise any of these rights by emailing privacy@velati.co.uk. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
